A Recipe for Success - Simple, Reliable Solutions for Food Waste
Latest News

In the world of waste management, efficiency and reliability are key, The MAS has proven to be a game-changer for operators tackling the challenging demands of food waste collection. KP Waste is a waste management company based in St Albans, Hertfordshire, serving Central and Greater London. Established in 1995, the company has over 30 years of experience in the industry. They offer a comprehensive range of waste collection services, including general waste, dry mixed recycling, cardboard, glass, food, hazardous, and confidential waste. Used four days a week, this robust rear loader delivers exceptional performance across every shift, demonstrating why it’s a standout choice for the sector.
Payload Powerhouse
The MAS vehicle boasts a payload capacity ranging from 6.5 tonnes to an impressive 10.5 tonnes per visit to the Severn Trent Green Power Plant in Colney Heath, Hertfordshire. This is a significant improvement over its predecessor, which could only manage around 4 tonnes per trip. The operator noted that the enhanced payload capacity translates directly to fewer trips, reduced fuel consumption, and lower operational costs, making it a more sustainable and cost-effective solution.
Catering to the Trade
The primary sources of food waste for this vehicle include trade outlets, such as restaurants and hotels, where 240L and 360L bins are commonly used. With a design tailored for efficient collection and handling, the MAS vehicle ensures quick turnaround times and seamless operations, even during peak collection hours.
Built for the Job
Developed for collecting food and glass waste with high fluid content, utilising a sealed container for clean, efficient collection. The vehicle’s typical 10-hour shifts showcase its durability and dependability whilst operators praise its reliability, particularly when compared to smaller RCVs. The MAS not only meets but exceeds the demands of long shifts, heavy payloads and frequent tipping operations.
A Green Future
With tipping conducted at Severn Trent’s Green Power Plant, the MAS vehicle plays a crucial role in supporting sustainable waste management practices. By delivering food waste to a facility dedicated to renewable energy generation, the MAS contributes to a greener future while maintaining top levels of operational performance. Using a green technology hydraulic system, it provides a smoother, quieter running system with improved fuel consumption, reducing both cost and impact on the environment.
Whether it’s the increased payload capacity, reduced environmental impact, or superior reliability, the MAS is setting a standard for food waste collection. It’s not just a multi-purpose vehicle, it’s a testament to how innovation can drive efficiency and sustainability in waste management.
